Stripe Tee Dress and Phillip Lim bag

 I don’t normally own a lot of stripes. I think it’s a little trickier to style, as stripes could create optical illusion to make your body look a certain way. Stripes done right could hide the uglies and show off the pretties. Style it right and you look amazing, style it wrong and you look like a disaster. The one thing I know for sure, always, when I don’t know what to do, is to go simple. If you think I don’t know what I’m talking about and want to pair stripes and flower print, or stripes with zebra, please do so. Fashion is to express yourself after all. For me, the safer route is to pair stripes with neutral and simple.

I recently came across this Phillip Lim satchel and I’m in love with the design of the bag. The one detail that really makes it for me is the two vertical zippers in the front, which when open, will add a little width to the opening of the bag. Not that you’re going to use that extra room to fill the bag with more stuff, but the zippers change the shape of the bag from square to trapezoid and the metal really adds some edge to it. Now it’s not just an average boring tote anymore, it has a character now!

This pair of blush strappy heels has been one of my favorite purchases this spring/summer season. They’re the definition of effortlessness. They’re amazing, without even trying. One strap in the front, and one small strap around the ankles and that’s all you need!

    I love that dress, Angel! The color combo and the different width of the stripes really help to add depth and flatter your shape; I totally get what you said about stripes, it can definitely add some unwanted additional width in some areas. That bag is perfect, I’ve always been a fan of this Philip Lim purse in particular because as you mentioned, it has character when the zippers are widened.
