I recently discovered Morning Lavender Boutique, both an online and a boutique-cafe located in Orange County, CA. If you get a chance to visit the physical store in Orange County, you should! It is such a cute girly boutique. But if you don’t live nearby the area, the online store also has an amazing selection of adorable, cute girly clothes.

One of the most popular styles from Morning Lavender is the Amelia full maxi skirt. It’s so popular they have been able to launch the mini version for your little ones, the Mini Amelia full maxi skirt (sizing from 2T-6T). My daughter and I have been sent the matching maxi skirts to style for this mommy and me blog post today, and we absolutely loved twirling in these beautiful skirts for the shoot.

Amelia Maxi skirt Sizing and Review

Both the mommy and me versions of the Amelia skirt are so beautiful. The silhouette is flattering and the fabric is extremely flowy and feminine. The skirts would be amazing for any family portrait photo session, Easter, or any special event.

You can wear the woman’s skirt alone, or get one for your mini, or both for you to match! You can even mix and match the colors, as there are a few options to pick from.

Morning Lavender boutique – Amelia full maxi skirt for mom

The Amelia full maxi skirt that I’m wearing here is the petite version, recommended for someone who is 5ft4 or below. As you can see, the length goes all the way to the floor for me. I am 5ft3, and wearing small heeled slides. I do wish the petite length could be a bit shorter on days when I wear flats.

The Regular length version is also available, and is 1 inch longer for those who are taller.

This skirt comes in 4 colors: yellow, rose, slate blue and pink. I am wearing Rose here as that option has a matching color available for mini. For women’s, sizes run from XXS to XL or XXSP to XLP.

The skirt is high waisted, and looks great with any crop blouse. I personally like styling this maxi skirt with a white bodysuit, and tuck the bodysuit into the skirt for a polished and smooth look.

Lucy is wearing a size 4T here in these photos. I like that the skirt is just as beautiful in the mini version as it is in the women’s. The waistband is elastic so it’s comfortable and gives room to grow. Your little one will be sure to love twirling in this skirt.

Mommy and Me matching outfits

For these mommy and me outfits, I wanted to keep the styling soft and neutral. So I opted in for a soft white cotton bodysuit (under $50) for me and a white cotton top for Lucy. Our tops are both made of cotton, and both have puff sleeves details.

The rest of our accessories are also simple: a neutral color bag and soft pink heeled slides for me. And Lucy opted in for her unicorn slides today. A bit of an odd pairing, but she does look very comfortable in them.
