Hey babes, this week I have a guest appearance on my blog, my fiancé Dylan. He’s made an appearance on my Instagram before, but never shown for my blog. Today, this post is a little special and more personal as I tell you our little story of what’s happening in our lives.

We got engaged last October while visiting my extended family in California. I have been asked by many of you when our big day is. Truth is, we’re heading to court to get our marriage certificate this summer, but we will not be having a wedding for a while. For several reasons, we wanted to postpone the celebratory wedding party, but the main reason being we are still saving up for it. We have big plans and big purchases to make in the next year or so, and the last thing we want is to start a life together …in more debt. As much as I want to be a princess on our special day, have the most beautifully planned wedding and invite all our families and friends, we truly think it’s not what matters the most, and it definitely can wait.
So what are the “big plans”? We’re looking to settle down, and move into a home. We’re both so over apartment living, our dogs need a yard, a big yard; I need an office and a bigger closet (doh, fashion blogger problems), and all of us in an 800 square ft space just doesn’t cut it anymore. I’m not saying we’re going to buy soon, but it is on our radar. At the very least, we will be renting a home and not an apartment anymore.
And other news that might be a little surprising is we’re planning to be parents in the next year! No, don’t worry, I’m not pregnant yet, but it is on our list of “things” for 2017. So with that, I’m sure there is enough expenses for us to want to put wedding on the back burner for now. Not that it’s not important, it is, and it will happen. Just that I think everyone has their own priorities, and for us, living in a beautiful home with our little family is the next step.
Father’s Day is approaching, and it makes me realize if all goes according to plans, this day next year, Dylan is going to be father for the very first time. He’s already an amazing partner to me and a wonderful puppy daddy to our two pups. So for me, he deserves special treatments this Father’s Day. it’s so nice of him to joining you for this editorial. I agree o the debt and postponing the wedding. For me, it’s more important to just get married and buy a house. rather than spending fortune on a wedding.
