Maxi Dress for Holiday Vacation ft. Shabby Apple

We weren’t on a vacation but to rent a bike and explore our own town is something I’ve always wanted to do and we kept on postponing until now. I’m so glad we finally got to do it, because it was so much fun! We’ve moved to Colorado in the suburbs of Denver for about a year now, but since we don’t have the needs to go downtown, we don’t go very often. I’ve been dying to go, rent a bike, and just ride about to explore the beautiful city. Summer would have been the perfect time to do that, but we missed it. Finally, we got to do it over last weekend. Biking also reminds me so much of my childhood in Vietnam. When was the last time I biked, must be more than 10 years ago, wow.

^^ These pictures were taken on the side because I had lost my balance and jumped off the bike and spilled everything from my purse, and this is just after me picking up everything 🙂 I know how to ride a bike I promise, I just haven’t for so long!

For days like this, I like wearing a maxi dress. It’s important for me to go explore around town and still look cute. I brought a jacket with me, but it was nice and warm, so the jacket was just sitting in the bike basket the whole time. This dress from Shabby Apple was perfect for this occasion. Thanks goodness for the side slits, or else I would have a very difficult time biking haha.

I think this Bridget maxi dress would be perfect too to pack for a holiday vacation (to somewhere nice and warm of course), the fall floral print is perfect for the season. And I also love the vintage look of the material and colors. This was also my first time trying out this wrap around pull through braid, inspired by the beautiful Amber Fillerup of BarefootBlonde blog. The tutorial is right here in case you want to try out the braid. I just wish I had pulled the braid out more to make it look a bit thicker. Amber’s hair is just too gorgeous, I can’t even get my hair to look that close. Maybe I’ll try again next time, practice makes perfect right? 🙂

    I love being a tourist in my own town too 🙂 My boyfriend and I just driving around looking for walking tracks etc we haven’t explored yet. You look insanely beautiful and this maxi dress and I’m loving the braid too
