How was your Father’s Day weekend? Did you do anything fun with your dad? I could only call mine on the phone since my family lives in a different state, so we don’t get to celebrate in person on Father’s or Mother’s Day. I will be seeing my parents on our family cruise next month though, so that’s not too bad.

This dress is one of the prettiest off the shoulder pieces I’ve seen. The ruffle sleeves are quite unique and are the stars of this number. I get compliments on this dress everywhere I go. I think it’s even cute enough as a wedding guest dress if you’re going to one this season.

I recently just started reading again. I have this weird habit of being really into reading for a period of time, and then putting it off for a couple months, sometimes even a whole year, and then I would pick up a book again. Last time I left off at Yes please by Amy Poehler, I left a couple pages into the book. She is a great writer and she’s funny, but she lost me with all the television show, political and pop culture references. I haven’t been in the states long enough to get all of her jokes, so I felt frustrated and just put her book in the corner (sounds dramatic, but really I have the e-book on my iPad and I just haven’t opened the app since). Then last week I don’t know what hit me, all of a sudden, I decided that I would get into reading again, so I opened up the iBook app, and thought I’d try it again. So far so good, I’ve been enjoying Yes please, learned a couple of new words, mostly idioms I haven’t heard before like “hostage to fortune”. I’ve had a couple of good laughs, Amy is funny, I’m thinking of reading Bossypants by her friend Tina Fey and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling next. Has anyone read Yes please? Did you like it? And is there a good book you recommend for me, given that I’d stick to reading regularly from now on?

    Hi Lily! Of course, you look stunning! I do that too with reading-I am a summertime reader-I like to read by the pool —so, I kind of like a lot of suspense & kind-of whimsical books {I just read, The Siren}, lol…You seem to like pop-culture books & I recently finished Melissa River’s memoir {Jon of Arc} about her life & her late mother, Joan Rivers’ life-if you like / know… her I enjoyed it!

    I haven’t read that book but I hear it’s good! I’m currently reading ‘furiously happy’ by Jenny Lawson. I love her blog and she writes great books! Taking me a while to get through it with two under 2 keeping me busy though, ha!

    I’ve been totally obsessed with this dress since I saw it on your Insta- that halter neck shape with the off shoulder is so unique. Looking totally gorgeous as always 🙂 I haven’t read either of those books, I prefer fiction as it lets my mind wander. If you’re after a fiction read, Jodi Picoult books are awesome
