Create your own custom perfume with Me Fragrance

April 14, 2016

*Thank you Me Fragrance for providing my own customized perfume. All opinions are my own.*

Yes, creating your own custom unique scent is a reality now with Me Fragrance. With over 150 different essential and fragrance oils, the perfume you customize is sure to be uniquely designed just for you. I had the opportunity to create my own scent with Me Fragrance, I was thrilled because I know I could be creative and put my favorite scents in this one. Since Spring is near, I decided I’d create something floral that centers around my favorite flower: rose! I named it Spring Floral.

MeFragranceCustomPerfume-3

You can create your own scent here by using any of three methods: the easiest is using their pre-mixed blends. If you don’t know anything about mixing fragrance and essential oils, or just don’t want to think about it, pick this option, some of these blends look amazing! However, if you truly want to control your scent profile, then opt in for second or third method. These methods help narrowing down your choices of oils by either picking a designer fragrance that you love, or by picking a fragrance family i.e. floral, woody, fresh, oriental. Either choice would give you a collection of oils in similar fragrance family that you would be interested in.

For Spring Floral, since I was inspired by the Chloé ‘Roses de Chloé’  (one of my all-time favorite perfumes), I picked the option to select a designer fragrance and entered “Chloé ‘Roses de Chloé'”. Then I was showed all the scents and oils that are in the same fragrance family of this designer perfume. The next step is to pick 6 out of these oils to create my blend. This process was fun as I learned which oils are good for base notes, medium notes and top notes. You can control how much that one scent is present in your blend. For example, I wanted rose to be one of the main scents, so I picked 20% of the blend to be Rose. The rest of the mix was Bergamot, Magnolia, Freesia, Amber and Musk. If you need help on what to pick, they also show you which choices will be compatible with your selected oil. To make the process even easier for you, there’s also a video tutorial which I found helpful.

And since I cannot share with you through my blog how my custom made perfume smells like, I will show you an outfit that is inspired by the scent profile. We have the pop of the 3D roses on my skirt, then the femininity of lace, and a little spice from rockstuds. Similarly for my perfume, the rose is the star, then you smell sweet magnolia and bergamot, and finally some spice from amber and musk.

I know I said this on Instagram, but I will say it again, you look incredibly gorgeous, girlie! I love the entire look you’ve created here and the rose details on the skirt, so lovely and fitting for this post! How cool is that, that you were able to create your own fragrance! That must have been such a fun experience and the one you’ve created sounds amazing! I like that they have an option for selecting redeveloped scents, so you can get familiar with the brand, but making your own is a much more fun and intimate option! With that, I like that they also suggest compatible scents, so that you’re not left having to Google it all, haha. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have an amazing weekend ahead!

I’ve heard about customizing your own scents, but never thought I’d actually do it because I know nothing about what scents complement each other and all that, but I love how easy it seems! That’s definitely a plus, especially since I think complete customization would be so unique. Also, I love how you created an outfit based off your scent – how creative! Especially because that top is so lovely with the lace sleeves. I love this post!

✨ Wood signs for my little Prince baby shower ✨:

- I ordered custom adhesive vinyl decals to be printed for large dimensions (around 3-5 ft tall).
- Cut the shapes out, and trace the shapes on wood boards (I used 1/4” thick plywood).
- I put painter tape around the traced line to reduce wood chipping when cutting with a saw later.
- Cut the shapes on the wood boards with a jig saw.
- Brad nail leftover woods on the back to make a stand for the signs (some small pieces of 2x4 worked well).
- Apply the adhesive back of the art decals onto the wood signs.
- Enjoy! 🩵✨🎠

☺️ What I’d do different if I do this again:
1. The horse and carriage are ok, but I’d loved the castle to be taller.
2. Use foam boards instead of wood for lighter weight. Wood would be great if these signs will be outside where it might be windy, but for indoors event, I would do foam.

My birth story 🤰🏻:
I went to bed at 39w3d with contractions 10 minutes apart, but had thought they were faux labor contractions (because I had Braxton Hicks and prodromal contractions most of pregnancy) so I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 2am and called my doctor at 4am since contractions were 7 min apart (still thinking they were not real 😂). Good thing she told me to come in. I debated if I should put makeup on and decided to not - wise decision! During the car ride, 7 min apart became 5 min apart. When we arrived at hospital, I was 6cm dilated. I asked for epidural and by the time I got one, I was 8cm dilated. I started pushing shortly after, and baby came after 20 minutes of pushing.
