Master styling OTK (over the knee) boots

November 6, 2015

OTK boots are HOT HOT HOT this season! From suede to leather, from flat to high heels, they’re the most talked-about boots on the blogosphere, fashion related social media, and fashion styling magazines. Have you learned your ways to master styling these sexy boots that give you legs for days? Or you totally didn’t even know these boots existed until now?

Outfit #1: With leggings/skinny pants
Tip: Match the boots to the color of your pants as much as you can. You look 10 times taller. And also, people can’t tell where your shoes actually end, so it makes them look twice, or just once but for like 5 minutes, just to figure out what you’re wearing. Either way, it’s fun.

Warning: OTKs are attention seekers. They draw people’s attention to your legs. After examining how stylish your shoes are, people will then stare you up and down (envying your whole outfit look obvi). If you’re used to being the center of attention, make it worth their stare. If you can’t handle all eyes on you, maybe wear a maxi skirt or wide leg pants over them and defeat their whole purpose anyways, or you might just rethink OTKs altogether, especially the high heel ones.

Outfit #2: With shorts/romper like it’s still summer around here
Here’s a picture of Chrissy Teigen in her tan OTKs and white shorts just casually going shopping.

article-2567514-1BD0B38000000578-560_634x738

Here’s some pics of me in my OTKs and rompers playing with the leaves. I know, I’m no Chrissy Teigen, but don’t leave me!

Tip: This is perfect outfit for transition weather where it’s warm in the day and cooler early morning and late evening (with help of a jacket).

Outfit #3: Wear with (mini) pencil skirt
…and a fuzzy sweater! Mmm, so soft and fluffy, this sweater. Tuck in your sweater, or wear a crop one (like mine) to have that long legs effect 😉

Outfit #4: Wear a shirtdress
For lazy days, when you don’t really feel like putting much thought into your outfit, throw on a shirt dress, or your boyfriend’s button up. A belt is optional. Then carry a big tote, maybe hair in a messy bun, hand holding a venti Starbucks cup, and wear your “I don’t really care” attitude.

Outfit #5: With a sweater dress

Mmm, sexy! Find a sweater dress (body con or loose fitting will both look cute) that sits just right above where the boots end. Show a little bit of skin here, you’ll look so hot, with legs for days!

So how are you wearing your OTKs this season fabulous? Let me know in the comments below! ???

Amalia, I’m not a tall girl either heheh, I’m 5ft3 and that’s like in between petite/regular. I think OTKs look great if you pair them with pants/leggings that match the color of the boots (my outfit #1), that makes your legs look much longer. Or anything that is short enough to show the full boots (pretty much the rest of my outfits). Basically just don’t wear a long dress that will go over the boots and you’ll look great! 😉

✨ Wood signs for my little Prince baby shower ✨:

- I ordered custom adhesive vinyl decals to be printed for large dimensions (around 3-5 ft tall).
- Cut the shapes out, and trace the shapes on wood boards (I used 1/4” thick plywood).
- I put painter tape around the traced line to reduce wood chipping when cutting with a saw later.
- Cut the shapes on the wood boards with a jig saw.
- Brad nail leftover woods on the back to make a stand for the signs (some small pieces of 2x4 worked well).
- Apply the adhesive back of the art decals onto the wood signs.
- Enjoy! 🩵✨🎠

☺️ What I’d do different if I do this again:
1. The horse and carriage are ok, but I’d loved the castle to be taller.
2. Use foam boards instead of wood for lighter weight. Wood would be great if these signs will be outside where it might be windy, but for indoors event, I would do foam.

My birth story 🤰🏻:
I went to bed at 39w3d with contractions 10 minutes apart, but had thought they were faux labor contractions (because I had Braxton Hicks and prodromal contractions most of pregnancy) so I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 2am and called my doctor at 4am since contractions were 7 min apart (still thinking they were not real 😂). Good thing she told me to come in. I debated if I should put makeup on and decided to not - wise decision! During the car ride, 7 min apart became 5 min apart. When we arrived at hospital, I was 6cm dilated. I asked for epidural and by the time I got one, I was 8cm dilated. I started pushing shortly after, and baby came after 20 minutes of pushing.
