Labor Day weekend… As I watch kids of all ages getting excited for another school year, college students moving into their dorms, I know fall is here. Starbucks is rolling out pumpkin spice flavored coffee, stores are stocking up on Halloween decorations, the morning temperature is starting to drop. Where did summer go, where did the time go? I remember summer had only made its first appearance through the warm morning breeze, and now it is already drawing to an end.
I’m a big fan of bright and sunny days, of spaghetti straps and tank tops, of lounging around in a bikini by the pool or at the lake. I’m a big fan of summer. I’m having a hard time letting go of the last days of wearing summer dresses and sun hats. Is it possible to stop the clock here and let me live in this weekend forever? Because after this Labor Day weekend, school will start, sweaters and booties will replace tank tops and flip flops, pumpkin spice will be in every recipe you could think of. So on this next 2 days, I wanna soak up in the summer sun, drink the last of my pink lemonade, wear the last of my summer dresses, and give summer the longest biggest hug.
