How I wear a crop top

June 14, 2015

Recently, I’ve been on a mission to update my closet for the season change. One of the essentials for summer that I love is a little white crop top. Here are a few ways I wear this top:

1) With leggings:

To it dress up, I pair it with some dressy black leggings. To accessorize, I wear these booties with little gold zipper liners (from here, but no longer available ?), and a hot-pink purse with a gold chain on it. I thought this is a great way to dress up my crop top. Wear a light jacket/cardigan if it’s chilly in the evening for you!

2) With a skirt/shorts:

For that cute summer look, you can pair it with a mini skirt, or shorts, and some cute sandals! Dylan bought me this amazing floppy hat at Costco over the weekend, and I love love it ❤️️ Thanks, honey!

3) With wide-leg pants:

I found these wide-leg pants at F21 last summer, and they’re the most awesome pants ever! They’re so soft, and silky, and bright, and fun! They’re high rise so I don’t have to show too much of my tummy in this pairing ? I just wish they came in petite sizes, since I’m only 5’3, even with heels they’re a little too long! ?

4) With maxi/high-low skirt:

For a feminine look, I pair it with this high-low skirt. This is actually a dress folded down to be a skirt, and I do not remember where I got it from, I think Nordstrom? But wearing this certainly makes me feel girly, another great look for dinner date (I did go to dinner with Dylan wearing this). And again, I got the wedges from here, but they are no longer available.

I love all the different ways you style the crop tops! I also love your background, it is so beautiful! At first, I thought “that looks like Colorado!” And then, as I kept looking at your blog I realized that it is. So cool! I love getting to know other Colorado bloggers! I look forward to reading more of your posts!

✨ Wood signs for my little Prince baby shower ✨:

- I ordered custom adhesive vinyl decals to be printed for large dimensions (around 3-5 ft tall).
- Cut the shapes out, and trace the shapes on wood boards (I used 1/4” thick plywood).
- I put painter tape around the traced line to reduce wood chipping when cutting with a saw later.
- Cut the shapes on the wood boards with a jig saw.
- Brad nail leftover woods on the back to make a stand for the signs (some small pieces of 2x4 worked well).
- Apply the adhesive back of the art decals onto the wood signs.
- Enjoy! 🩵✨🎠

☺️ What I’d do different if I do this again:
1. The horse and carriage are ok, but I’d loved the castle to be taller.
2. Use foam boards instead of wood for lighter weight. Wood would be great if these signs will be outside where it might be windy, but for indoors event, I would do foam.

My birth story 🤰🏻:
I went to bed at 39w3d with contractions 10 minutes apart, but had thought they were faux labor contractions (because I had Braxton Hicks and prodromal contractions most of pregnancy) so I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 2am and called my doctor at 4am since contractions were 7 min apart (still thinking they were not real 😂). Good thing she told me to come in. I debated if I should put makeup on and decided to not - wise decision! During the car ride, 7 min apart became 5 min apart. When we arrived at hospital, I was 6cm dilated. I asked for epidural and by the time I got one, I was 8cm dilated. I started pushing shortly after, and baby came after 20 minutes of pushing.
.
It has been the best experience with recovery and breastfeeding I’ve had between the 2 children. And we can’t get enough of Mr. Colt’s smiles and snuggles 🧸.
