Ruffles on ruffles – spring essentials

May 25, 2017
Ruffle Spring Essentials

Ruffles Spring Essentials Ruffle Spring Essentials Ruffles Spring Essentials Ruffle Spring Essentials Ruffles Spring Essentials Ruffles Spring Essentials Ruffles Spring Essentials Ruffles Spring Essentials ruffles spring essentialsWhen you read the title ruffles on ruffles, you probably think oh gosh, she’s wearing more ruffles? Is this over the top too much in one outfit? I honestly think this look is adorable and is not too much. I know I have ruffles on my top, and then more on the hemline of my skirt, but I will tell you why I don’t think this is over the top. Plus ruffles is a spring essential anyways, so I can’t do wrong here.

In my humble opinion, not only this outfit is not overdone, but also it goes well together. The skirt is a mini skirt, short and sweet. And even though there is ruffle on the hemline, it’s the perfect simple detail to compliment the pink top. Also the black and white gingham is a nice addition to break down all the structure of the ruffle. I completed the look with this long layered leaf necklace in gold. What do you think about this look for a brunch or shopping date with your girlfriends on the weekend? Not a patriotic themed outfit, but it could totally be worn on a long weekend for a fun in the city activity!

Is there even such a thing as over the top or too much? In case there is, this most certainly is not that outfit, instead I think it’s a fun, cute and playful, yet elegant and classy outfit which totally reflects your great personality and that’s what we want our outfits to be. Reflections of ourselves. 🙂

You definitely didn’t overdo it with the ruffles. In fact, the ruffles on the bottom of the blouse and the bottom of the skirt work together to create a very elegant layered look. Xo, Jessica

This is such a lovely look Lily, I wasn’t a fan of ruffles in the past but it is so popular and have changed my mind. The top is so cute with the double layer of ruffles on the sleeves and the skirt is just too cute. Gingham is a great print for summer.

✨ Wood signs for my little Prince baby shower ✨:

- I ordered custom adhesive vinyl decals to be printed for large dimensions (around 3-5 ft tall).
- Cut the shapes out, and trace the shapes on wood boards (I used 1/4” thick plywood).
- I put painter tape around the traced line to reduce wood chipping when cutting with a saw later.
- Cut the shapes on the wood boards with a jig saw.
- Brad nail leftover woods on the back to make a stand for the signs (some small pieces of 2x4 worked well).
- Apply the adhesive back of the art decals onto the wood signs.
- Enjoy! 🩵✨🎠

☺️ What I’d do different if I do this again:
1. The horse and carriage are ok, but I’d loved the castle to be taller.
2. Use foam boards instead of wood for lighter weight. Wood would be great if these signs will be outside where it might be windy, but for indoors event, I would do foam.

My birth story 🤰🏻:
I went to bed at 39w3d with contractions 10 minutes apart, but had thought they were faux labor contractions (because I had Braxton Hicks and prodromal contractions most of pregnancy) so I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 2am and called my doctor at 4am since contractions were 7 min apart (still thinking they were not real 😂). Good thing she told me to come in. I debated if I should put makeup on and decided to not - wise decision! During the car ride, 7 min apart became 5 min apart. When we arrived at hospital, I was 6cm dilated. I asked for epidural and by the time I got one, I was 8cm dilated. I started pushing shortly after, and baby came after 20 minutes of pushing.
