Best sale of the year: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The sale I have been waiting for all year long is here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access starts now. As we speak, I’m applying for the Nordstrom card so I can shop early. This, people, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, is literally the best sale of the year!

This is the best sale of the year because this is when I will shop for our fall and winter wardrobe, and even early Christmas gifts, you know how expensive those things are during season. Comes August 8th when the sale ends, all these items will go back up in price. I promise you this is not one of those “getting rid of stock” or “last one in this color and size” kinda sale! My mom will never know my secrets when I gift her a cashmere sweater which is full price at the store but I got it today for 40% off. Or maybe she will if she is also shopping for my gift, (hi mom?)

The categories that I always want during this sale: good denim pants, coats/jackets, booties/boots, Dylan’s sweaters, his shoes and gift items. I rounded up my picks from the sale that are going in my cart today, and I hope this round up will help you with your shopping as well! Happy shopping!

P.S. If you don’t have a Nordstrom card to shop early access, just a reminder, Nordstrom does not restock during the sale. So when an item you want is gone, when it’s restocked, that’s when the sale is over and the price is already back up. Just a heads up to say if you really want something, it might be worth it to get a Nordstrom card, at least the debit card.

Jackets/Coats:

This year, the color is going to be red. From dark rich wine to bright bold red, this beautiful color is going to be hot! I own a wool coat in red already and I get compliments everywhere I go. I might just get another one! If you don’t have a red coat yet, this year is the time to try it, you will not be disappointed. I love layering a white sweater underneath a red coat, and adding gold jewelries as an option. If not, plaid or animal print is always a great choice too, can’t go wrong with that!

Shoes:

Like I said above, if you don’t own a pair of red shoes, this color is going to be hot this fall and winter. Pick up a pair of wine red lace up flats or block heels. Speaking of block heels, those are also a must have! They are the most comfortable and cutest shoes ever.

Denim pants:

Alright, this is the most important category for me this year. Uhm, embarrassing but I did have to go through my closet recently and get rid of all my jeans I’ve had since college. They’re old and they don’t fit me anymore. I was a size 0 (Idk, I didn’t discover food until recent I guess lol). And going through a change in pant size means I need new pants. This is the perfect time for me to get some really good pairs of jeans for good price that I normally wouldn’t pay full.

I tried these on in the store a week ago and I understood the price tag. They were so comfortable, I feel like I could do a split in them and I can’t even do a split. And uhm, hello a$$, where did you come from? I think I’ll splurge on one or two pairs this year.

 

Handbags:

Another category that I love. Handbag is something I love outfit after outfit, so getting a good staple bag is a must. The leopard print shoulder bag I linked down here is my favorite, it looks like a Chloe Faye bag, but is $150 right now! I have the Rebecca Minkoff “Jumbo Love” already in purple from last fall, and might get the dusty blue satchel linked here this year. Doesn’t it look like a Balenciaga bag?

Men’s:

Whether you’re just stocking up for your husband’s wardrobe, or buying him a Christmas gift. Maybe for your dad, now is the time to do it. These are the only two men I need to shop for. So I would set aside a good budget for this category and just get all of their items now. The good sales include: sweater, leather shoes and sneakers.

Giftsets:

For yourself, or for your Christmas shopping list. I love getting fragrance or makeup sets. I feel like they are more valuable than buying single products. You also have the opportunity to try out different scents/shades as well. And if you don’t know what to gift for someone on your list, these kinda giftsets will always work!

    These are such awesome picks Lily! I have been debating applying for a card for early access as well…I have an extensive wish list I’m afraid I’ll miss out on if I don’t.

      I just applied for the card this year. It doesn’t hurt your credit if you get the Debit card, which is what I did. And it was amazing!
