How to wear hot pink mini dress in Fall

October 1, 2015

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey0MhgMHXmA

Hi everyone!

As summer is drawing to an end, and fall is making its first appearance, we are starting to put our mini dresses and hot bright summer colors to the back of our closet. But if you’re anything like me, putting away summer bright fun colors is the saddest thing to do for me. So I’m going to share with you how I hold on to a hot pink mini dress for a couple more weeks in these easy 4 steps. You can apply each step alone, or combine multiple steps together, depending on your dress and the weather.

Would you wear this dress in Fall?
Hot pink mini-dress

1) Step 1 : Increase your sleeve length

This is a no-brainer. When your arms are cold, add a jacket to increase your sleeve length. It also helps tone down the hot pink. Or you could also wear a sweater over your dress.

Add a jacket
Wear sweater over

2) Step 2: Cover up your legs

If your legs need a little bit of cover up, wear some black tights, or black leggings. You can also switch out those heels and sandals, for some boots! Try a pair of ankle booties, or tall boots.

Knee length boots
Ankle booties

3) Step 3: Wear a scarf

This is not only a functional, but also a very stylish accessory. Use a neutral color or an earth tone color to tone down your summer hot pink.

Wear a scarf
Use neutral color

4) Step 4: Use your coat!

If it gets even colder and none of these steps could protect you from the chilly breeze, pull out your ultimate weapon! Your coat!

Wear a coat!

And there you have it! I have showed you 4 ways to transform a summer hot pink mini-dress into a fall outfit. So if you are not ready to part with your lovely hot pink, bright coral, or any other summer colors, but worried you cannot wear them this fall, think again. Just follow my 4 tips and add layers and neutral fall colors, and you’re good to go! 🙂

With love,
Lily Rose

I hate pink, honestly hate the colour with a passion and I think it stemmed from my mum making me wear the colour all the time when I was younger. LOL! I do love the whole dress with tights look, it’s very chic and you look amazing in the outfit.

✨ Wood signs for my little Prince baby shower ✨:

- I ordered custom adhesive vinyl decals to be printed for large dimensions (around 3-5 ft tall).
- Cut the shapes out, and trace the shapes on wood boards (I used 1/4” thick plywood).
- I put painter tape around the traced line to reduce wood chipping when cutting with a saw later.
- Cut the shapes on the wood boards with a jig saw.
- Brad nail leftover woods on the back to make a stand for the signs (some small pieces of 2x4 worked well).
- Apply the adhesive back of the art decals onto the wood signs.
- Enjoy! 🩵✨🎠

☺️ What I’d do different if I do this again:
1. The horse and carriage are ok, but I’d loved the castle to be taller.
2. Use foam boards instead of wood for lighter weight. Wood would be great if these signs will be outside where it might be windy, but for indoors event, I would do foam.

My birth story 🤰🏻:
I went to bed at 39w3d with contractions 10 minutes apart, but had thought they were faux labor contractions (because I had Braxton Hicks and prodromal contractions most of pregnancy) so I didn’t think much of it. I woke up at 2am and called my doctor at 4am since contractions were 7 min apart (still thinking they were not real 😂). Good thing she told me to come in. I debated if I should put makeup on and decided to not - wise decision! During the car ride, 7 min apart became 5 min apart. When we arrived at hospital, I was 6cm dilated. I asked for epidural and by the time I got one, I was 8cm dilated. I started pushing shortly after, and baby came after 20 minutes of pushing.
